I'm about to provide acute care to a patient 75 years old with spinal cord fused into a crack of upper neck bone. He had an a neck injury that was operated on and scheduled for for further correction. The condition occurred after the first surgery while waiting for a second one. He has a concave at the back of his neck and chin nearly touching his clavicle like a hunchback. He's had no associated pain or mobility function. What are the vulnerabilities of the second surgery and what type of care can I expect to provide.
