About last year I saw something on TV. It struck me that I might also have the disorder. They even said the name of the disorder but I forgot what its called. I'm searching for that answer.

The disorder makes you well....smell. No matter how many showers or soap bars you take/use, the smell will still persist. Its really a social downer. TV said that it is a defect with some enzymes that secretes through your skin and causes the foul odor. It intensifies when you sweat. The people affected by it watched their diet and bathe constantly to control the odor. This is a rare disorder. Help find the name of it please.

Thank you.

  • a blood test can reveal if you have trimethylaminuria (fish odour syndrome) of which there are varying degrees. it is a metabolic disorder with defects in an enzyme that breaks down a by product of protein digestion released by bacteria in the gut.there is no cure for trimethylaminuria but a low protein diet restricts the amino acid choline which is a building block of protein naturally found in fish, eggs, beans, a low dose of antibiotics also temorarily kill these bacteria in the gut.all the best Myth
