excessive thirst and dysausmia, not diabetes

my friend has been having these odd symptoms for a while and her doctor doesn't know what's wrong.
several weeks ago, her arms and legs were very itchy, with no visible rash. she had a few bug bites, but not in the area that was itchy. that lasted about a week and then disappeared.
4 days later, she experienced dysausmia (where all food smelled bad to her) and she had no appetite for about 3 days. when she was forced to eat, she complained of feeling nauseous and that the taste lingered in her mouth. during that period, she also complained of feeling like she was moving through water and having low energy.
she has had excessive thirst and has been drinking a lot of water (although she normally hates water) and has been urinating more frequently than usual.
her periods have been normal, but she is currently on her period and said that is is more heavy than usual.

she went to the doctor this morning and they did a urine test, which came back showing dehydration, but it was so obviously diluted that she couldn't have been dehydrated. he also ruled out diabetes. they are currently running some bloodwork, but i was wondering if anyone had an idea as to what she might have?
