SIR,
My son aged 35years now has been suffering from acute problem ofdrainage of mucus . Pollips were removed by surgery in 2003 . The problem has been attributed to bend in nose bone. He is living in a place where heavy polan is there. Frequently he is affected by cold due to dust allergy and the left nose get blocked as proper drainage of mucus does not take place. Sometime he loses the sense of smelling also. Doctors feel it would be better to go for correction of bone.Is it safe to do now ? He uses often a spray to get some relief. Being a steroid spray, how for it is safe ?

thanks...Guna

  • It sounds to me that you are talking about a deviated septum. This surgery as far as I know is relatively safe and easy. My cousin had this done and she was very happy with it. Polyps do come back so these may be some of the cause of his problem. I had one and my ENT doctor checks me every 6 months. Good luck.Janq:o
