Chronic Non-allergic Runny Nose

My poor dad who is 75 has a severe problem with chronic runny nose. He can't do ANYTHING without his nose running constantly which makes it hard for him to breath, eat, talk, walk or even use his oxygen. He has COPD so breathing is already a problem for him but this constant runny nose makes him feel like he would be better off dead. I can't stand what he is going through!

He's seen doctor after doctor and all just give him a prescription which does no good at all. Last week he was seen by a Ear, Nose and Throat specialist who looked in his ears and throat then gave him a prescription for Patonase which was VERY expensive and has done nothing but make his runny nose worse! My dad can't even walk from his living room to his bathroom without his nose running so severely and getting so winded that he has to turn on his oxygen just to get his breath. But he can't use the oxygen until his nose stops running so severly. What the heck?

If ANYONE has ANY ideas that may be able to help, please respond. I can't stand to see my dad in such misery that he feels he'd be better off dead all because of a stupid runny nose that doctors and specialist seem to not care enough to help. Thank you!
