Treatment After Memory Loss

Hey everybody, I just had a quick question I was hoping someone could help me out with.

Basically, if an individual was admitted into a hospital after hitting their head and suffering a concussion (after having another concussion a few weeks prior) and there found they had no recollection of the past 20 months, what would be the immediate treatment by the hospital? Or more specifically, would the individual be simply sent home after a few hours, or would memory loss of that magnitude warrant keeping the individual for a few days for any sort of further treatment?

Thank you in advance for any help you all might be able to offer me!
