When I sit or stand at a certain posture, my left side of neck, collarbone area and under chin area starts to tingle/burn/itch. When I move my head or neck in another direction/position, it goes away instantly. This cycles all day long. I have to constantly keep moving my head and neck angle to stop this condition. If I sit leaning back in my chair at work, I have instantly lean forward until the sensation goes away.

I think I might have an entrapped cervical superficial nerve. I've had this for about 3 or 4 months after I started going to the weight room and doing rowing and shoulder shrug exercises. I've stopped doing those exercises and try to work on the problem by using range of motion, neck stretches and massage but it doesn't seem to be making much progress. I have an appt with a neurologist in a week but just want to hear some opinions from the public. Has anyone had this and what were the treatments?

Has anyone had this and what were the treatments? It seems a neuro-muscular symptoms.I often have s.th. like this in my neck or shoulders.Try putting hot water on the area for several minutes combined with light massaging with your hand while having shower. Also, you can get a wet cloth with hot/warm water and put it on your neck. This can help in activating the blood circulation in that area and relaxing the muscles & nerves.
