Ths strange feeling has happened 4 times in the last 14 days. I have not felt it previously. It happened to me twice shortly after arriving to work. Once while I was making breakfast and the most recent while I was sitting on the couch. At first, I thought it was maybe because I needed to eat. Well, today it happened after breakfast. Seems to rule that theory out.
What is happening: I suddenly start to feal like I am going to pass out, I immediately sit down since I will be falling further if I am standing. As I am sitting there, I start to have memories, or visions. I am not sure what it is. I am also thinking- "Is this real or fake? What is this?" I have these memories/visions up 'til I stop feeling like strange in my head. As soon as all of the strange feeling goes away, I can't remember anything that was in my head. I can only remember wondering what it was. It is only lasting for about 30 seconds to 1 minute.

I have been to the doctor and they came up with nothing. My blood came back normal, my blood pressure and heart beat are fine. All of my reflexes are normal. I do have an appointment with a neurologist, but that isn't for another 2 weeks. I would love to have some kind of a clue.

Everything happens in the morning. On 1/22 it was shortly after arriving to work. On 1/28- I was cooking breakfast. On 1/29- shortly after arriving to work. I thought it went away because it didn't happen again 'til 2/4. On 2/4-I had already eaten and I was sitting on the couch flipping the chanels. It was closer to noon, instead of being before 9am like the other times.

Another thing is my body temperature seems to rise. I have not taken a temperature, but I start to get really hot. If I am wearing a sweater, I have to take it off instantly. When someone sees me while it is happening, they say that my face turns very pink in the cheeks and nose.

I hope someone can help

  • sounds simalar to a form of epilepsy. your neurologist should be able to investigate this further. try keeping a diary of your episodes to see if there is a pattern, some types of epilepsy can be triggered by menstruation for instance amongst other things, your neurologist might find this helpful too. it would be a good idea to take a witness to one of your attacks with you so they can tell the neurologist how you were affected, especially as you can't remember. how do you feel afterwards? very tired? nauseas? it may not be this so please don't worry and bear in mind it could be anything.good luck and please keep us postedkind regards Geebop1978

  • Well, it has happened several times since my original post. It happens at any time. Always in the morning though. Driving, cooking, cleaning, sitting/standing at work, watching tv. I know that everytime I get red in the face and I get hot. And, every time I see the same stuff in my mind. It's strange that I can't really say what it is that I am seeing after it is over with. But, I know each time that it is the same thing. It goes quick too, like I'm seeing a few things and it goes through each of them quickly. Almost video game like. I have really slacked with going to the doctor, but I will be making an appointment soon. I canceled my original thinking it had gone away.

  • I have had the exact same thing happening to me. I feel fine, then suddenly I feel very light headed, hot and that I’m going to pass out. I sit down and then have a very clear hallucination, usually in some way linked to video games as you mentioned, before it goes away and I don't remember anything (I played some video games as a kid, but rarely anymore). I think it's the same every time, or closely related. The entire episode lasts about a minute. To me, it often feels like I'm remembering, very clearing, a dream or something in my head and because of that, I’m getting overwhelmed. I also notice that it really affects my memory for hours and that I have trouble clearly thinking through my thoughts, specifically my memories. It feels like I can not distinguish real from fake for a while afterwards.I have had three sets of times that this has occurred for me; Feb/Mar 06, Jan 07, and currently since June 8th. In 06, I was very stressed between work, college and my personal life, so I felt like it was stress related. It lasted for about 3 weeks, and was very intense until it suddenly disappeared. I realized that in addition to being stressed, that i was also probably dehydrated, and began drinking plenty of water. That seemed to help. The second time lasted about a week. I again was stressed, but I quickly started drinking plenty of water, and it seemed to go away. I also thought that maybe i wasn't eating enough and may have been vitamin/mineral deficient.Because of my profession, I am very busy/stressed Jan-Apr so this year, I drank plenty of fluids and drank a Vitamin Water every day and had no occurrences. However, since about a week and a half ago (June 8th), they have started up again. I noticed that I may not be eating enough so that could be the cause. I also haven't been drinking the Vitamin Waters nearly as often. I am, for the most part, fairly hydrated though. I would be very interested to hear more about your situation and see if there are any similarities between us that could maybe be the cause, or if you have figured out the cause.Dan

I have been having seizures. I had a bigger one in my sleep the other morning. That would explain everything. You should see a Neurologist.

  • I have not been diagnosed with epilepsy yet. I guess you have to have 2 before they will do that. I go for an MRI and EEG on Monday. . I have slacked in diary department. My memory has gotten ridiculous since this has happened. I am on dilanton (i think that is how to spell it) What really sucks is that someone screwed up and could have killed me. I am still a little funky. My prescription bottle said to take 3, 3's a day for 3 days. Well, apparently it should have been 1 day. And then only at bed time. I OD'd on the medicine and can not take it until they draw my blood on Monday to confirm that the levels are low. It really sucked. Actually, typing is pretty hard for me. My hands are shaky and looking at the screen is not fun for my eyes. This will be it for now. Oh yes. The things I started writing about were Auras. The one I had in my sleep was a partial complex seizure

I've been having the same exact thing happen to me and this is the only place online I have been able to find the same symptoms. I was wondering if you found out anything that might be helpful/useful for me. This happened to me over and over one day, probably every fifteen minutes, until I was throwing up and went to the hospital. They gave me a CAT scan and sent me home without any help. Hopefully we can correspond. Also, I was wondering how old you are? I'm 19 and I'm wondering what role age plays.I hope you are well!jess.

  • Turns out, I have Epilepsy. I'm almost 29 years old, and I had my first, and only, seizure at 27- Days before my 28th Birthday. Well, technically, the things that were happening to me were very small seizures. They are know as Aura's, or also known as Simple Partial Seizures. I had a Gran Mal Seizure days before my birthday. I wish it was not Epilepsy. I have had Aura's lately and it is scary, because i know what happened last time I was having those. I didn't have a seizure until 6/28. That was a few months after the Aura's started. I definitely recommend you go see a Neurologist. They will get you taken care of. Maybe it will be different for you. Better safe than sorry though. Imagine if you have a seizure while driving. Also, the Aura's were explained to me very well. It is like Deja Vu. Craziest feeling Deja Vu anyone can have. At least that's what I think.

  • Hi, I am not sure if anyone is reading this thread any more, but I have the same symptoms: a "deja vu" type feeling that lasts for anything up to 20 seconds and which occasionally leads to blackouts. The deja vu is very odd - it makes me think "I've seen this/been in this situation before", but on the other hand, I know I have because I'm usually somewhere familiar anyway. I occasionally think about music during the episodes but afterwards can never remember any details. My memory in general is also getting much worse, which I'm now starting to think may be linked. I've had the episodes since I was about 13, varying in frequency but approximately 1 every 2 months or so (I'm now 35). I have only blacked out 4 or 5 times over this time. However, they recently got more frequent when I became pregnant with my second child. Now, after the birth, they've settled down to about 1 per week.I have seen various doctors over the years, who basically just passed it off as fainting (lack of fluids, heat, change of posture, etc.) and I was never really bothered about it. However, now that it's more frequent and may be dangerous for my children if I black out or am not thinking straight for a while, I decided to have it investigated properly. I was recently referred for epilepsy testing - they're currently thinking it may be atonic epilepsy (where you fall but don't fit) and that, like the person who started this thread, the deja vu episodes are auras. I've had an EEG (result was suspicious but non-confirmatory) and have just had a 24h ambulatory EEG (results not yet back). Hopefully this will confirm it one way or another. Does anyone else out there have these symptoms and been confirmed to have epilepsy - or another diagnosis? If so are your treatments working? Thanks!
