I was in a motorcycle wreck last Saturday. They did an MRI of my upper body to make sure my neck/back wasn't broken. The thing is, my left shoulder from the upper arm to the base of my neck is still numb. I was thrown from my bike about 30-40ft and landed in a concrete ditch, I think I landed on that shoulder. I had one heck of a bruise but nothing was broken. The shoulder is numb on the surface only, if someone pokes my shoulder I can feel it deeper down in my shoulder but if something lightly touches my skin there I can't feel it at all. The bruise has been gone for about two days now, it looks normal.
Anyone know anything about this, such as what it's called or what I can do about it? I'm wondering if the impact didn't cause some nerve damage or something, would that be permanent? I'm going to schedule an appointment with a doctor about getting some X-rays of my wrist and possibly my shoulder done, I'll ask him/her about it when I get there, but that could be a long ways down the road. Just looking for some information now :)
