I have had numbness in both my ring and pinky finger for about a week. Today I noticed the outside of my palm is now numb. It seems to be moving up my hand. I am on the computer allot for school and other things, and I do lean on my elbow allot. Does anyone have any suggestions. It is really starting to get annoying. It's like when you are in the water too long and your fingers prune, and I do have to work a little harder to get them to sraighten and stretch.

Prolonged pressure on the base of the palm and or elbow may also damage part of the Ulner nerve. Ulner nerve dysfunction is a problem with the nerve that travels from the wrist to the shoulder, which leads to movement or sensation problems in the wrist and hand. Symptoms are but not limited to: Abnormal sensations in the 4th-5th fingers, numbness, Tingling, burning sensation and weakness to hand, it is also difficult to raise and straighten the fingers as well as weakness of the wrist and hand bending, leaving the hand in a "Claw like position". It also sounds like symptoms of "Radial Nerve Palsy", but in this you would loose all function to bend wrist and fingers including the thumb along with numbness and tingling. I currently have Ulner Nerve Palsy as well as having a Radial Nerve palsy in the past, a severe case that lasted one year! It was verry devistating and frustrating not knowing if I would regain the use of my hand again, it is a possibility with severe Nerve Dammage in which I have. I am right handed and now with the Ulner Palsy I only have my index finger to type and difficulty in holding anything. I also have carpal Tunnel, So I sugest in seeing a Neuroligist if this persist any longer before you do end up with any type of Nerve Dammage! Look up Ulner and Radial Nerve Palsy, I am not implying or trying to frighten you that this is what it is? I wish you luck!
