Hi. My 18 y.o. niece was recently diagnosed (within the last 6 - 8 mos.) with Celiac Disease. She is now on a very strict diet. My sister believes that her daughter has had Celiac most her life but was never diagnosed by her pediatrician. At about the same time of her diagnosis, she developed numbness and tingling in her hands and feet. Because of the numbness, she has had (within last month) a full blood panel/cbc and now an MRI. The MRI ruled out MS. I have been reading that low B12 can cause these symptoms. Her blood panel showed a B12 level of 480. She was put on a multivitamin, iron, and calcium when she was diagnosed with the Celiac several months ago. Is there anything that is being overlooked by the doctors? Would taking these vitamins over the last 6 months affect her current bloodwork? Should she be retested for the B12 or is it high enough to not warrant another test? Thank you for any help.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
