48 yr old female ==started 18 months ago - weakness rt hand grip, cramps thighs,1 episode of walking funny, am headache, fatigue, 'shin splint' type pain rt leg, toes cramping. blurring left eye. (exam -no + pressure in eye)Rt leg gave out. MRI -brain normal. Symptoms increased. numbness, tingling, Now = weakness, extreme fatique, blurry vision lt eye, swallow test shows weak tongue, weak swallow reflexes, MRI spine = spot of +signal could be due to swallowing during test or early plaques of MS. EMG ok except for small problem in rt hand, NCV test ok. tendon reflexes rt leg and rt tricep now gone.
Physio now stopped - no real results- reflexes diminishing and weakness increasing slowly. Lots of muscle twitching all over. Lumbar puncture scheduled for April 27. Hopefully will give more answers. MS?? - however diminished reflexes, no babinski relex, no optic neuritis. MND - lower?? upper??
bits of both?? Does anyone have any suggestions re diagnosis, coping. I'm just starting to get depressed and I'm getting tired of always being in some sort of pain. help.
