Healthy 40 yr old female-I have had 2 previous laminectomies C5-6 in 02 and C6-7 on 06. No injury or idea why I had 2 ruptured disks. After second surgery, numbness on left side never went away.
4 weeks ago, I woke up with a huge HUGE swollen muscle (Sternomastoid) on right side. I was put on muscle relaxants and they did nothing. Already on NSAID. Over this weekend, left side of neck became swollen too. Heat and ice have not helped and my neck hurts. Lymph nodes do notappear to be swollen. No fever-just pain. I also have pain in my left shoulder that goes into left arm. I have done nothing to injure my neck-no lifting heavy objects, no trauma to neck-nothing out of the ordinary. There is also a lot of clicking in my neck.
ANyone have anything like this before? Everything I can find is about swollen lymph nodes in the neck. Please help. I am going crazy. Oh,
I just had an MRI tonight-will find out tomorrow hopefully what they may see if anything. I appreciate your time
