Head Spasm

I've been having these spasms in my head almost every night just as I fall asleep. At first I thought it was myoclonic but the spasm is confined only to the head. When it happens my head shakes from side to side very fast for about 5 seconds and I wake up. Sometimes I can feel it coming just as I am falling asleep.

When it first started, it repeated itself 10 minutes apart the whole night through (I video taped myself). Now it happens for the first hour maybe & eventually I fall asleep. I am taking 100mg of effexor daily.

Can anyone shed some light?
