This has been going on now for about 2 weeks, at first intermittently, now almost constantly.
right wrist. same one I broke at age 12. Have a bony projection on top of hand, about 3/4 inch above wrist. (and somehow I recall them saying it might not heal right, but then again I was only 12).
ANyway, it feels like I got a drop of cold water on my wrist. So i reach over to wipe it off and there's nothing there.
It's mostly aggravating, not painful.
But I am wondering if the bony projection (which I've had forever, I'm 35 years old now) is pushing on a nerve? And if so, is this something that will get worse or needs treated in some way???
And if so, what kind of dr would I go to? I don't have a gp right now (just moved). Do I see a neurologist? Orthapedic? gp?
The bony projection is not in a direct line w/the wet area. The wet area is more like in line w/my thumb, and actually just a tiny bit below the wrist into the arm area. The bony projection is in line w/ the area b/t my pointer and middle finger. If you make a fist and bend the fist down, you can feel the bone there on your own hand. But on my hand, that bone is raised and round - sticks up enough to push the skin up and show to the naked eye.
But I don't know how nerves run in the hand either.
Any ideas??? No other weird feelings of wetness/cold anywhere else on body. Blood sugar is fine, blood pressure is good, thyroid is good, cholesterol a little high. (had physical few months ago before I moved and all the usual stuff checked that they do yearly)
