facial paralysis- diagnosis?

I've had facial paralysis and pain near my mouth which makes speaking and moving one side of my mouth very difficult. I have had this condition for 3 months. I have no other symptoms. The neurologis has diagnosed me with Bells Palsy, my ENT says that's nonsense and that I have postherpethic neuralgia.

My MRI is clear and my lyme test is negative. I am currently wearing braces that also cause me discomfort. Heat pads seem to ease the pain in my cheek area. I have taken various antiviral medication and soma to no avail.

Could the braces be causing this? or was it coincidental that this problem occurred about the same time as the time I had my braces palced on my teeth?

Has anyone had similar symptoms? Can braces cause these nerve problems? Any advice would truley be appreciated. Thank you
