Dystrophic Calcification In Left-Side of Brain?

I had a CT Scan due to episodes of vertigo/white-outs I've been having, and they "found" a spot, roughly 3mm in size (very small!) that they've suggested might be dystrophic calcification or something else (can't remember what).... what exactly is this? Thing is, the same thing (hasn't changed in size or anything) was found in 2000 when they did a CT Scan due to episodes of white-outs. Haven;'t had the white-outs for years again until recently.

What causes this calcification?
