I've been reading about paranoid personality disorder in journals (because I thought I had something like it), and it turns out that I match up with over 90% of the characteristic qualities of the condition. I am wondering whether/how I should get help...

Thank you so much.

  • Making an appointment at your nearest Mental Health Clinic would probably be the best start. They can give you an evaluation and council you on the disorder. They'll probably want to prescibe anti-psychotic medication. That word may sound a bit scary but it's very common in Mental Health settings. Most disorders are considered psychotic, even say Bi-polar. Just another way of saying mental I suppose.Unless you don't mind living with the condition, I would make that appointment. The medication may do wonders for you or it may help some. We all have different chemistries, so it depends. They're apt to increase or change the meds if they're not working as well.
