I was hoping someone out there could help me. My symptoms are nerve pain, nerve damage (branch that runs down my right arm, left leg), itch like sensation, sharp shooting pains, involuntary movement, night sweats, positive ana results, mouth rips, sensitivity to cold, pain behind eyes, skin down my leg and on the side of my face gets extremely sensitive sometimes, my bowel movemets are pencil size and I have to put presure on my abdomen to have a bowel movement. I have arthritis in my spine. I have been in 3 accidents. Since I have a positive ana doctors don't know if it is accident related or autoimmune related. I keep getting sent from one doctor to the next all thinking I need a different type of specialist. No insurance so testing is an issue. Any opinions would be welcome.

  • With night sweats and the other parasthesias I would consider Lyme disease as something you need to rule out. Another tick borne infection that sometimes goes along with Lyme disease is called babesia and people often get sweats with that. Get a Western Blot for Lyme at Igenex labs in CA, ELISA tests are worthless and miss many cases. Get copies of all the test results, even if they tell you they are negative. Don't hesitate to get 2nd, 3rd, even 15 opininions until you get the right answer. I had to see 17 doctors before being properly diagnosed with Lyme disease. Demand that each one chart all of your symptoms in writing in your chart. There are other types of infections besides Lyme that can get into the nervous system as well, like Mycoplasma, Chlamydia, or mosquito borne viruses like West Nile. Good luck! Ima
