I have a son, aged 17 that was doing average or better at school. In the last 1-2 years his mental health has deteriorated, resulting in aggression and violance. His school achievements went to rock bottom as he never reads anymore. He claims, and believed, that he cannot read anymore - text gets blurry and he gets tired and the context does not enter his brain. At the same time he has been loosing firends and feels very miserable. He has been checking his eyes and scanned the brain without finding anything. Just recently (last 1-2 mionths) he has been accepting seeing a psycologist regularly and and assessment is being developed. It seems as his cognitive abilities do not work well. He has much more problems with organizing himself (loosing keys, phone, etc.). His life went from normal to miserable in 1-2 years. It seems as his frustration over not being able to read and get ahead is the key. As I am worried for him all day and have niot received any axplanation I post this to ask for leads.
