Chronic lower back pain with swelling, fever, high sed rate & normal MRI

I'm a 37 year old female that has had lower back pain and burning lightening sensations down my left leg only. After years of PT and chiropractic care, a pain specialist said he believed my pain originated from an unstable SI Joint. My MRI showed some signs of mild arthritis in the L4 - L5 but it wasn't enough damage to account for the pain I am feeling. After trying injections without any success and finding out that the nerves were "hypersensitive" to stimuli but still conducting signals correctly, I opted to have SI Joint fusion. A few months after surgery and more PT, I started having the burning sensations down my left leg again and was referred to a different pain specialist who works with chronic pain conditions. The pain meds were working at first but about 4 or 5 weeks ago, I started experiencing swelling above, below and around the L4 - L5 vertebrae. When my pain doctor examined me, I had a 101.5 temp and the swollen area was really sensitive even to the touch, so he ordered blood work. At that time I had just finished a course of prednisone (50 mg daily for 6 days) and my sed rate was normal but my CBC was elevated. A week later I still had a temp of 101, so he ordered more blood work which showed a normal CBC but my sed rate was high. He then ordered an MRI which came back as unchanged from my last MRI (which was taken right before SI Surgery - mentioned above) so he won't increase my pain meds and hasn't offered any conclusions to what this may be. Today I still have a low grade temp ranging from 100 - 101 F (101 just now) and the swelling is still there more prevalent after work or at the end of the day. I am prescribed hydro's 10/325 every 6 hours which dulls some of the pain but night time and sleeping are difficult between burning sensations, swelling, muscle cramps in my buttocks, night sweats/fever and being unable to find a comfortable position. Anyone have any further suggestions?
