Hello to all,

The worst problem in my case is my Atypical Trigeminal Neuralgia. I have steady eyes and face pains. The pains are most on the right side: pressure from the top of the head; pain in the right ear, right neck muscle (pinched or compressed - levator scapula), right shoulder and upper arm.

Doctors say all is from neck muscle and that is levator scapula. Nobody knows why levator scapula is always swollen? There is pinched nerve Suprascapular nerve and both nerves: this one and Trigeminal make pressure into eyes and face and make me totally helpless and very sleepy. I feel like knight byte in the right eye, almost all the time.
I can't live anymore like that as nobody helps me.

Buena

  • The first two Trigeminal Nerves are: V1 Opthalmic: eye, forehead and nose Sensory-1V2 Maxillary: upper teeth, gums and lip, the cheek, lower eyelid and the side of the nose Sensory-1 That is all for me. Now I understand why there are always eyes pains! Now, I want to know who has it and does this person has eyes and jaw pains or not. Here is me (with my pains):

BuenaHi! a very late reply, I hope that you are ok or at least better. The reason for the levator stiffness is very often tension in serratus anterior, as the levator is an antagonist to the S.A. You have to stretch the levator and massage it, there could be trigger points there too that have to be treated, just by applying pressure on the most painful point!! increase the pressure slowly, until the pain have disappeared.Your should see a therapist who is a professional in sports, they should know how to treat this.Best regards and good luckVQ

  • I have had trigeminal neuralgia for three years, the pain has never stopped I have atypical with a loop, I had surgery and they were able to put teflon around two of the nerves the third one was fused and looped around brain stem and this one unfortunately causes the worse pain possible around the right top quadrant. I have had at least ten procedures following the surgery to help alleviate the pain its 10 on a pain scale of 10 all the time. I am at the pain clinic and they have done radiation, gamma knife radiation, radiofrequency abolitian and ketamine infusions nothing has worked. The scary thing is it doesnt get any better and can actually feel it getting worse over the past three years. Doctors just shake their heads and don't know what to do with you.
