for 5 weeks i have very weak right upper arm and shoulder, f.e. i cannot lift a 4kg weight with my arm streched forward or to the side.
my hand and fingers are still normally strong, i didnt have any injury (that i know of) and i almost have no pain just weaknes, my arm seems to weigh 50kgs
x-rays of servical spine and lab test (blood) showed nothing, i'm now scheduled for EMG.i dont have any diagnose from my physician so far.
i also have occasionaly twitching (uncontrolled ***k movement) of muscles in my left leg and both arms.
i came to the conclusion that must be a neural problem/disease.
i'm 36 male, i work in siting position so posture sure is a problem.
but i also excercise (MTB, squash, skiing) so i consider myself moderately/very active. I eat everything from healthy food to junk food, perhaps just to much sweets (chocolate).
Does anybody have the similar problem or expierience? Any idea what could cause my problem or any advice are greatly appreciated.
:)

  • That could be alot of things but since it is one of my symptoms check out cushings and acromegaly. Has your shoe and ring size gone up? If so start with acromegaly.

  • Possible motor neuron disease. Also get a Western Blot blood test for Lyme disease. (Not Elisa test - inaccurate). Don't hesitate to seek out a "specialist" in the above areas because lots of regular docs or neuro's don't get it. I had to see 17 docs before I was properly diagnosed.

  • my strenght in shoulder has improved to some degree. after almost 2 months. but it is still not ok yet, i belive it will take 4-6 months to recover to the normal condition.i still don't know the reason for this problem what i changed was1. no hard excercise/traninig2. very reduced intake of sugar/sweets3. light stretching and strengthening excercises for back/backbone every other day or so I can't say for sure wether one of those things helped or not.I posted that info if someone had similar problem it might help.I'm still looking for opinions and ideas what could cause such a serious weaknes.. Thanks and happy hollidays!:)
