I have had inflammation of the SI joint on the right side for over 7 years. And had steriod injections in SI and Facet joints several times..MRI shows nothing except osteoarthritis and degenerative disc disease in L-4,L-5.Started have pain in lower spine that's when dr decided epidural injection in lower spine ..First one helped, second one left me with sometimes unbearable pain in lower back, left thigh aches and pain, and pins and needles, sometimes swelling in left foot..DR say it was not caused from injection -- but I had never had pain in left side..Some days I can not care formy children it hurts so bad..The Dr had tried voltren and now celebrex and tramadol..I have tried to explain that the pain is so bad I can't stand it..And the dr that gave the injection swears that nothing they did would cause this added pain... Any in site and/or advice would be greatly appreciated..

  • Hi sorry to hear of your troubles it sounds as though it could be sciatica. sciatica usually causes pain down the back of your leg. Osteoarthritis and ddd also commonly occur with sciatica all though this does not prove that you have sciatica. being born with an extra vertebra is not that uncommon and can sometimes cause problems if it is not formed properly.
