I have been experiencing weakness in my left are/hand/fingers which has been increasing over the past twelve month. There is no numbness, tingling or pain. I do have muscles twitching in that forearm - these twitches can be seen at times, both in my forearm and in the back of may hand. The hand/arm is considerably weaker than my other arm. I am unable to completely close my fingers and am unable to life any finger (other than my pinkie which still works) if I place my hand on a flat surface.
I have had many blood tests which show no metabolic issue, and identify no real issues. I've had a neck MRI which has (I think) ruled out the possibility of a pinched nerve in my neck.
I'm trying to understand what might be causing this but just don't know enough. In addition to ALS,(or some varient), MS or lyme disease - what could this possibly be - anyone got any ideas?
I see the neurologist again in a few weeks after an EMG - I think next after that is a brain scan...
Any thoughts about what else I might look at asa cause would be appreciatsed. Thanks:eek:
PS - please excuse typing - difficult to use my left hand effectively.
