Just looking up this thread after coming back from hospital. I'm 26 years old 135 lbs. with slight scoliosis. I don't think the scoliosis has anything to do with it but since a lot of people mentionned it, I thought I would too.
I push a boat on rollers at work (20 000 lbs), and soon after (10 minutes) felt like a pinched nerve in my upper right back/shoulder area. But the pain got worse until I couldn't stand. went to hospital after laying down for 5 hours. I was told I tore a back muscle.
They prescribed an anti-imflammatory which I have to take twice a day (breakfast and dinner) and told me to put ice on it 10 minutes at a time. the doctor also said I can still work, but light duty tasks only are in order.
Hope this helps.
