My 4 year old nephew was not able to walk for a 2-hour period. He gradually regained the ability to walk. During the ordeal he was not complaining of any pain, and there was no injury involved. The Dr. said that it was probably a cramp. But, I have never heard of 2-hour cramps that are not painful or at least uncomfortable. The Dr. did not run any test and simply said to bring him back if it happens again. I am just wondering if this could really have been the result of cramping and what other conditions or diseases can cause this. Thank you in advance for your replies.

  • Its so weird you say that because when I was about 3 or 4, the exact same thing happened to me. I am not 26 and it has not happened again. But I remember waking up and falling out of my bed, I had to crawl with my arms to my parents room. My mother took me to the doctor and within a few hours, I could walk again. I don't remember what they said it was. I think they didn't know and because I regained my walking ability within a few hours, they didn't care. But I don't think you have to worry about long term implications because this happened to me and I'm fine.
