Throbbing pains behind the ear

I'm a 20 year old male that auditioned for a local production of a musical a few days ago and after my audition, at which I sang higher notes a little out of my comfortable range, I immediately started experiencing pains in my upper neck behind my right ear upon finishing the audition. It feels like a weird mix between a sinus headache and a pulled muscle. The pain is about a 4/10. My mom's remedy was 3 advils, 3 times a day for 3 days, which I think was a terrible suggestion. I have been taking aspirin but it seems to go completely ignored by any pain medication. I'm at a complete loss since it's been hurting for almost a week now. Can't say that the pain is getting much worse, but it's really annoying and starting to worry me.
