I was getting severe pain in my shoulders which moved into my collar bone, then neck, then elbows, then hip joints, knees and ankles. When it was just in my shoulders my Dr. said it might be frozen shoulders (as someone she knew personally got that during menopause and said she heard it was quite common). People were telling me maybe you have Lupus, or Rhumatoid Arthritis, or something worse.
I suffered for 4 more weeks with it just getting worse and with nothing helping it. Not having time to take off work, and my co-pays are high, I started to think about it. I looked up each prescription I take (just a couple) and none said a word about joint pain. I check with the pharmacist too. None said anything about joint paint.
I was thinking, is there anything I have been doing different lately? Then I decided to look on the web. Found many things but finally found under the search for Diseases with Joint Pains. I clicked on the link for wrong diagnosis and went to Medications or Substances causing joint pain and voila there it was... I had been using Ambien (for insomnia)!!!!! NO WHERE did it say that it could cause Joint Pain... but it did. NO MORE AMBIEN FOR ME! It was causing me debilitating JOINT PAIN! I wasn't sick at ALL! :)
