I suffered a lower leg injury from running. The pain runs primarily on the outer side of the leg between the calf and shin bone. It is a very isolated pain in that region of the leg. I have a bit of a limp when I walk but nothing substantial. Running is nearly impossible. The pain is especially sharp when i try to run heel to toe. It started bothering me while running about 3 weeks ago until it was at the point that I could no longer run. I have since stopped running and resting it quite a bit with walks here and there to loosen the muscles. Is this something serious, or maybe a slow healing stress fracture? What can I do to speed up the healing? I'm dying to get back my exercise!
