  • I Know Exactly How You Feel. I Too Have Been Dealing With My Pain For Quite A While Now. I Have ( Severe) Burning In My Upper Back, My Right Leg Hurts,(especially When I Drive),at Night When I Lay Down The Muscles In My Leg Twitch,my Eyes Get Real Foggy At Times. I Have Had Blood Tests, X-rays, Cat Scans, bone Density Tests, Ultrasounds, You Name It I Have Had It Done. The Only Thing They Found Was A Cysts On My Ovarie, An Old Fracture In My Back From Years Ago. I Went This Past Friday For The Ultrasound And I Have Hurt So Bad Since Then In My Abdomine. I Too Am On Lots Of Pain Meds, And Thats Not What I Want, I Want A Diagnosis, Not Drugs. I Haven't Heard From My Doctor Yet So I Don't Know What To Do. What Gets Me Is That I Have Good Insurance And Still Can't Get No Answers. Hang In There, I Will Not Stop Till I Get Some Answers, Neither Should You

  • It is by chance that I have come across this thread. It is remarkable that I feel as though I am reliving my chronic pain through someone else. I can relate to your journey. I too am at a loss. How does one begin to describe the constant chronic pain one lives with and the loss of effective pain relief. I would be happy with some respite from the pain.Anna

  • I am so sorry for you. Have you been to see a infectious disease doctor or doctor of internal medicine? Those will be my next steps. I have been ill since about the 2nd wk. of Oct. No time, compared to you. I have had a low grade fever, swollen throat, stiff neck, foot pain, joint pain in my wrist, fingers, shoulders and behind my kneesand when I am tired I ache all over. I have hypothyroidism. Blood tests revealed nothing there, nothing as far as arthritus either. My doctor has had me on Naproxen, and pain medicine, with a diagnosis of Arthritis Virus. I started out on 800mg of Ibruprofen, then Ultracet, and now Percocet. Nothing relieves the pain. I have had some relief last a couple of days at most, then I regress back to the same syptoms. My question to you is how are you functioning? How old are you? Do you have help with dealing with this? I pray that you do. I would not wish this on anyone. What type of specialists have you been to?I look forward to hearing from you, and possibly helping you deal.Judy

  • I can relate to all of you. I live with severe pain everyday. I don't have health insurance, so going to a real doctor is out of the question right now. I've been to the ER several times for my symptoms and they've told me I'm overworked or maybe need a vacation or have a pulled muscle. My symptoms started about 12 months ago and are getting progressively worse. Sometimes my neck is stiff and its to painful to turn my head, my lower back hurts till I can't even stand, my shoulders hurt, my hips hurt, the bones in my arms hurt, my hands get numb and I lose slight motor function, I have a place under my right rib cage on my back that's been KILLING me for about 4 weeks now. I can't sleep and when I finally do I don't want to get up. I find myself crying alot lately. Sometimes I think maybe I'm crazy and it's all in my head but I know the pain is real. I don't know what to do.

  • Hello, Becky thank you for your response. I recently got a diagnosis, he said I have Osteoporosis. I was put on Fosamax, and just started taking it today. I am only 37 years old with three kids, 11,9, and 2. I SOMETIMES don't know how I make it through the day. As for help, I struggle with this basically myself. My husband works nights, sleeps during the day,but can't complain there, he is the only one working Isure can't. As far as my outlook, it doesn't seem good, he says I can't lift nothing over 15 pounds, no physicall activity, I was told my bones are very easy to break at any time. In the back of my head though, something tells me to research this futher. All i know is that i am in alot of pain that never goes away. The burning in my upper back is awfull and noone seems to understand that. I HOPE YOU FINALLY GET THE HELP YOU NEED.TAMMY

  • Look into the possibilities of Multiple Sclerosis, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, Fibromyalgia and Chronic Myofascial Pain. All four cause extreme pain in all areas of the body.Untill you can get all the nerological tests and stuff done, make sure you get as much sleep as you can, exercise to whatever extent you can handle, eat well, no alcohol, sugary stuff, or caffiene (always makes my Fibromyalgia flare up), and strech, strech, STRECH! No matter what, do not let your muscles begin to atrophy (my mother, before she found out what was going on, let herself waste away)! That is the worst thing that could happen, possibly worse than the pain (I know that seems impossible hon...) I'm praying for you,Sheena

I believe you have FMS...a.k.a. Fibromyalgia. I would be very suprised if you have "not" been told this already? I have suffered with F.M.S for 12 years and under the care of a Rhume...You need to somehow get physically active even on your meds. Physical pain does cause mental anguish. The two go hand in hand. There is hope if you have F.M.S. but you will have to get tough as I did....goodluck

  • I can certainly sympathize with all of you and your pain. I have been having the burning in my hips, outer part of my thigh, down my legs and have lost the feeling in the bottom of my feet for several months. I have had a stiff neck and a horrible headache for weeks, and can't stand bright light or sunlight. Setting, standing, walking and driving are out of the question. When I went to the doctor he said he thought I may have meningitis or MS. So far they have done an MRI and a CT scan last week and additional blood work. Next is a spinal tap. They put me on Mobic for the inflammation and also Lyrica. I'm hoping to get some relief from this medication, but so far no luck. We were in hopes when they did my Lumbar Laminectomy with fusion and hardware in Dec 2008, that it would cure the problem, so far it has just gotten worse :(I'm hoping to find out this week the results of everything and hopefully get some answers. My prayers go out to all of you who have had this ongoing pain. It's really tough to be "Mom" when you are in pain all of the time.:( Hope that you all can find out what's going on and get some relief.

  • Anyone with whole body pain, joint pain, and fibro symptoms should be checked for vitamin D deficiency. A simple blood test will rule this out. Vit D deficiency can cause these symptoms, and it is becoming increasingly common. Please make sure this has been tested and that you know your levels. Best wishesDOM

  • DOM- thanks for letting me know that. I'm not for sure if they have tested that, I hoping they would have, but I will be sure that it's on the list for the next tests. Thanks again!:)
