I'm 57 and in my youth used to do a lot of sports and exercises. An injured knee and a surgery put an end to all those activities. My knee was always week and painful and after about 6 years ago I was diagnosed with chondromalacia (stage 4).
Recently I develop other symptoms: bad lower back pain, joint pain and weakness. Three months ago I had the first of four episodes of severe muscle and joint pain followed by high temperature (over 104F). The pain during those episodes is terrible but what I find very strange is the fact that hours latter big rashes appear always below my waist and surrounding the area like a wide belt. The rashes are red and hot to the touch. They are as painful as burns. I also suffer from psoriasis and previously my joint pain was associated with it but now the dermatologist says that that rash is not psioriasis and the reumatologist says that it might be RA.
My blood tests show high hemosedimentation and high alpha 1 acid glycoprotein. But nothing conclusive came out of this. No medication was prescribed except naproxen.
This Christmas eve I had the fourth and worst episode. Rashes appeared just a couple of hours after the fever have started, pain and weakness were really debilitating and the temperature didn't lower much all night long despite medication, baths and so on...
I'm getting frightened and frustrated. I really could use your help and most of all I need to know where to go from here.
