Besides the occasional back pain probabaly do to my job which requires lifting I get very Severe spinal/back pain/stiffness only when I go outside in the cold weather. It can happen the second I step out into the cold or a few minutes later but it feels like I got hit by a truck and it has lasted for 5, 10 minutes at a time. Sometimes It will happen while walking out to my car or while im driving home or somwhere before my car heats up. The exact spot is the middle of my back around my spine. I have to rub it and I feel my body tense up. It really really hurts and before I went to a doctor and spent a fortune due to lack of insurance I just thought I would ask.

  • Hi Brittney,I'm sorry there aren't more answers for you at the moment, but maybe others will have a reply for you later today.I've never encountered anyone with your type of symptoms when entering a cold temperature. I'm only familiar with the symptoms of bone pain gradually. not sudden like yours.some forms of arthritis are effected by damp and wet climate. gradually though. not so intense upon entering the cold. for example, you'd normallly wake up feeling achy in a particular spot where the arthritis is on a rainy day. that's the way it is with my arthritis.people your age can have arthritis.have you ever been in an accident that hurt your spine? sports? a car accident? do you have any family history of bone disease or joint disease?how long have you been having these symptoms? If you can't afford to see a doctor in private practice, maybe you can find a clinic that takes payment on a sliding scale fee? they only charge a percentage of the money you are making. nothing more. This way you'd be able to catch a problem that's at the early stages, rather than wait and have to deal with a bigger problem.I hope you're able to get an answer soon.Good Luck,Linda
