Ok background, I sprained my ankle pretty badly playing baskteball about three weeks ago. Recovery went fine and I played today for the first time since. It felt a bit ginger at one point but it went ok. Then I took a shower, took the train home, made dinner, and then started to eat dinner on the couch, at which point my ankle got really stiff all of a sudden. No pop or crack or anything, just I tried to move it and I noticed.
Now I can only move it in the bottom half of the normal range of motion. It hurts a bit, but its mostly just stiff. When I try to move it up past halfway (the opposite direction of pointing my toes), it feels very tight in the back (by my achilles, but also above that) and in the front, by where you'd tie your laces. It also hurts when I push on my leg bones a few inches above the ankle. Should I see a doctor or wait to see if it gets better?
