Hi, I'm a 28 year old female who was diagnosed with scoliosis at the age of 15. At the time I believe I had a curvature of around 30-35 degrees. I was essentially done growing, so it was decided that no treatment was neccessary. I haven't been x-rayed or had a doctor check it out since then.
I am now suffering from a variety symptoms and would like to know if this could somehow be related to that old diagnosis. I am having difficulty breathing, especially when standing. I can not stand for more than 5-10 minutes without having acute shortness of breath, lightheadedness and nausea. I end up having to squat down on the spot to regain myself and it's embarassing. I also get pain in my chest that is associated with the breathing problems. I recently noticed that the left side of my chest protrudes out. The bone right below my collarbone sticks out and I can't feel the same bone on the right side. I brought this to the attention of my doctor and he said it was probably always that way and that the only reason I feel it now is because of weight loss. I haven't lost any weight though.
I have also been experiencing stange muscle spasms. Some are extremely intense (for instance, my leg spasms so bad that I knocked over the coffee table), while other times they are relatively mild. They are usually in my legs, but also in my arms and neck, sometimes my torso as well.
If anyone can help me figure out what is going on, I'd greatly appreciate it!
