Permanent changes from poor posture?

Is it true that having a poor posture for a long period of time (years) can cause permanent changes in the way the bones grow? I had poor posture for about three years from excessive computer use. My posture isn't horrible I'm definitely aware of the changes. I'm worried it might be very hard to undo... is three years too long?

Thanks

After skeletal maturity, they can change their alignment, such as changes in the curves of the spine, or bow legs, it is possible to realign them using braces, therapy, orthotic inserts, and exercise. Three years is not to long.
