I slipped and fell on a concrete surface. I used to do that all the time when I was younger, but this time is serious. I went to a doctor, got some x-rays, and this is the situation:
What I felt was pain in my upper back, knee and hip. Three of my fingers on my hand were numb.
The diagnosis they gave me was "back strain", contusions on the hip and knee and carpal tunnel in the wrist from the fall(they thought I fell on my hand and pulled it back causing the numbness but I don't remember landing on my hand). They gave me a wrist brace and knee brace to wear, and prescribed ibuprofin.
So here's what's happened since the original diagnosis: my knee is still swollen(I fell about a month ago), my hip is better, my back was hurting so bad Monday that I actually had trouble breathing. The fingers on my other hand are now going numb, which really frightens me. I went back because the other hand went numb, but that turned out to be a waste of time because all they told me was to keep taking my pills(I stopped taking my pills for a while after panicking that they might be doing more harm than good).
The numbness is spreading and the back pain isn't getting better. I'm guessing the knee will heal itself since that's what it used to do when I was younger, but the spreading numbness really worries me.
