Pain--I keep thinking it will get better

About a year ago I was dx'd with bursitis; right hip. (MRI) It is my preferred sleeping side.

Over two weeks ago I developed a discomfort in my left butt. Within a couple of days that leg could not bear weight for the pain--bad pain but more or less localized to the lower butt and inner thigh.

Took me all this time to get to depend on crutches loaned by a neighbor. Pain managed with T3 and Motrin and okay whiskey.

Recall no injury just prior to episode but I was physically roughed up in October,

Problem is being single parent. It appears there is no choice but to drag him to ER.

Need to vent--to get moving. And I'm scared it might be DVT which I just learned on this board.

  • things never got better for me on their own. i always had to go to a dr. my office visits are not covered so i never wanted to go. i usually take ibruprofen for any kind of inflammation. the stuff you're taking is pretty strong and i can't imagine taking a youngster around with you too. i usually give things a week if i can take it but then go to the dr. i hope things work out for you . i'll say a prayer that you're ok

  • I think I'm cracking up for not going yet. Maybe tonight. Kept kid home from school so I would wake up at a reasonable hour and have him go with me. Kid turns off alarm clock, hides his ADD meds behind the coffee pot, then undoubtedly played PS2 all day.Doh!Cynthia

  • I had annoying pains in my left hip. I stopped carrying my wallet in my left rear pocket and that helped a lot. However, I still get the pains occasionally.I now carry most of my stuff in a purse-like bag which my son-in-law thankfully referrs to as a "possibles bag" like the mountain men carried, so I avoid the stigma of being a man carrying a purse.

  • Sounds like hip arthritis. How do you know you had hip bursitis on the other side. Was there an x-ray taken?
