pain between my should blades and to the left

I had back surgery 9 months ago. Very unsuccessful. I have had "shots" every month since. The pain stayed horrible. They removed a disk, made room for the buldging disk above it. Arthritis of the spine and Degenerative disk disease. I was miserable until the doctor found a great combination of meds and I got my life back.. for the most part. I went back to work. My lower back stopped hurting, but my upper back has a world of pain. I go to work and after about 3 hours, under my left should blade, it burns, intense pain and sometimes I just can't lift anything. The only thing that helps is to lay flat for about 10 mins. That relief is short lived. I wear a brace for my lower back and over the counter medicated pads along my upper spine. The pain has gotten more intense over the last 3 weeks. Everyday I cry. I've been looking for shoulder braces on-line, but just don't know what to choose. I don't know if it would even help. I do alot of reaching at work and under 20 lbs lifting. My arms are in consistant motion. I would chalk it up to just a strain, but it hurts even when I'm home and have done nothing for days. If anyone could please write and let me know their opinion or advise, I would greatly appreciate it.

  • Most people with Scheuermanns disease have chronic pain between their shoulder blades. You said you have Degenerative Disc Disease which is a part of Scheuermanns Disease. Here is another forum for those with the disease.http://forum.badbacks.com.au/viewforum.php?f=13
