I have been having pain in the base of the back of my neck and between my shoulders since Tuesday 27th. It hurts mainly if I bend over, or look straight up. Doesn't hurt from side to side too much. I tried everything to help, heat, cold, wellness patches, flexall, massage, 600mg Ibuprofren, and rest...nothing eased it at all. Finally I gave in to see my husband's Chiropracter today. He said I was in bad shape and would have to have alot of work done. One vertebrae was out of alignment and he showed me by pressing on and it hurt really bad. He said it was pressing on a nerve and another one was doing the same on the left side of my neck. He did an alignment which did feel better and said I also had a torn ligament in my neck. He told me I had to have had a traumatic accident or something done to me to get me in that shape and I had been like this for a long time now and it just now started to show. I can't think of anything, no accidents, etc. I even asked my mom about when I was little, she said I never got hurt bad to cause that to happen. SO, anyway, I don't know what to do next....he wants me to continue to see him cause he said "I had a lot of work that has to be done". Only thing is our new insurance doesn't cover any Chiropractic care, so the money will be coming out of our pocket. He didn't tell me anything to do as for pain right now. So here it is only a couple of hours after seeing him and my pain is back!

  • Nothing needs to happen in order for injury to occur. All kinds of people are walking around with herniated discs who have no pain. A small percentage of the population does not even have a full brain due to spinal column fluid pushing up against it when they were developing... never discovered until autopsy that they only have a thin layer of brain cells on the outter wall of the skull. Anyway, I'd reccomend trying to find one of those neck traction units that you can hang over a door and put your neck in. Start slow, 5 minutes the first couple of days. This will help reverse most neck symptoms, at least temporarily. Check with your insurance because they might cover a lot of this device. Cervical (Neck) Traction Unit.
