  • Yes, I know what you are talking about. I think it is musculoskeletal in origin, not GERD>. GERD may refer pain to the back , but it should not make the spine tender to the touch, as yours is. ALso, you sit alot and the mid back has a convex curve which can create misalignments at the apex of that curve when a person sits a lot and perhaps slouches somewhat. I have had this and a good adjustment to it did wonders.

  • i get middle back pain between the shoulder blades, and it is tender on the spine in that area, ...Tenderness in that area, indicates to me, that you have an additional medical issue. GERD wouldn't cause tenderness to touch, on your spinal back... how hard do you have to press, before you feel discomfort? also, I think that you may want to make sure it is GERD, before taking LOSEC for lengthy period of time, since it may be a hiatal hernia, or any number of things that could cause pain in the sternal region. ok? talk to your doctor about taking that medicine for long periods, since almost all medicines have side effects, and many side effects take months before they can manifest themselves. It's a risk vs benefit analysis you and your doctor should discuss, and see if he can make sure it is GERD, possibly by ruling other things out, if he has to do it that way. Talk and ask questions with him/her. ASAP.
