Since I was a child i have just wished to cut off my right little toe. Recently it has also affected my left smallest toe- I cannot stand for it to be touched- even by my socks and shoes- If I even think about it it drives me crazy. I have a shooting pain that travels up my leg when it is touched. The dr's cannot find anything wrong and it isn't in my head. Any ideas would be appreciated- Thanks

  • I just found this site. I have the same problem. Shooting pains in my little toe, left side only. Comes on for about 5 seconds, hurts like heck, and then goes. Doesn't go up my leg. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has this too.

It feels almost like someone is shoving a thin knife up my little toe and it comes and goes. Please email me at hotbrokers@aol.com if you have any answers. Audrey

  • I have this same pain in my right pinky toe. When I told my Grandmother about the issue she said she went to the podiatrist w/ the same pain many years ago and she was told it was an irritated nerve in/near her pinky toe. The podiatrist did some type of shot treatment to kill the nerve. Now her pinky toe just hangs a little more "limp" than the other toes, but her pain is gone. A little extreme for me, I think I will just deal w/ the occasional nerve pain.

  • Hi, I am a PT and can't say that I've ever treated anyone with your condition. If the symptoms are consistent and do not come and go than your nerves may be hypersensitive. I would actually consider seeking acupuncture as a potential treatment option as research has shown it to be effective for neropathy and other foot neurological conditions. Hope this is helpful. ~JTrempe PT, ATChttp://www.joint-pain-solutions.com
