I started with neck pain that would come & go, predominantly on the left, down to the shoulder, often so bad I could not turn my head. When standing in the mirror I can see an obvious drop of my left shoulder and breast. My left breast is about an inch lower than the right. (They were symetric last week) I now have left sided pain in and under my rib cage though slightly round the back. It's unbearable. I have done NO strenuous exercise or activity. Doc says it's muscular......any advice????? Clare.

  • I would suggest you go and see a good Chiropractor or Osteopath. Neck and spinal injuries can cause all sorts of problems such as those you describe. Bones, ligaments, nerves, and muscles all are inter-connected. It is now obviously (to me) more than just muscular. I would not leave the problem to get worse. You can injure your neck or spine during your sleep, getting out of bed, reversing the car, reaching for something, twisting, taking a deep breath etc etc.

  • Thankyou for your advice. I have since contacted a chiropractor but am astonished at the cost!!!!!! This is holding me back a little. The pain has subsided I must say but the obvious drop in my left shoulder and breast is still there. What is the difference between a chiropractor & an osteopath? Is Osteo just bones? The pain still occurs in my left shoulder blade when I'm on the computer or at the table etc. and the pain in my left side occurs if I do anything strenuous .The doc said it was because I have bad posture and just advised me to walk/sit correctly. I'm just concerned that the obvious drop is going to be there permanently now. Thanks again, Clare.

  • Hi, I just thought I'd give an update on my symptoms as nothing is improving. So, I started with the neck, shoulder & left sided pain. It has now progressed to my right thigh????!!! I have had severe pain in my right thigh for 3-4 weeks now. It's a burning pain on the outer thigh that is very tender to touch. Also have pain in the left thigh that comes & goes though not as bad. It is affecting how I walk, get upstairs etc. Pain in my collar bone area (underneath the boney parts on both sides) Very tender to touch. Pain above & below my elbow joints, also tender to touch. Today I have woken up with severe pain at the bottom of my rib cage, the same pain you'd experience after sit ups.Tender to touch. I have done no exercise. I still have the burning pain in my left shoulder blade which is burning as I type. I went to the GP with the thigh pain when that appeared & she said I may have pulled a muscle in my lower back which could be affecting the nerves in my thigh. I accepted that but within days of seeing her all the other muscluar pain began. I've also had sharp crampimg pains in my neck. Any suggestions? I am making an appt for Monday but thought I'd pop on here and get some advice. Thanks, Clare.
