10 days ago I received some trauma to my left knee. After a couple of trips to the GP and some x-rays I've had the problem narrowed down either calcification of the MCL ligament or a complete tear which has also taken a small piece of bone along with it.
I have an appointment at the fracture clinic tomorrow at my local hospital where hopefully it will be determined what the problem is for definite. In the mean time I have been given 2 weeks off work, advised to rest as much as possible and given Dicloflenac Sodium for the pain.
I just want to be a bit more informed about the two possibilities before tomorrow morning.
Does anyone know the treatment options etc? I'm guessing by being transferred to the fracture clinic that I will have some sort of plaster/knee brace on for a period of time?
Any information is great. Just looking to be as informed as possible when I 'walk' in so I can give them the best information about my injury.
Thanks in advance, guys.
