Forearm pain

For about 3 months now I have had a pain which I would class as being at the front of my forearm just slightly below the front of my elbow - I think it feels muscle/tendon based. It has eased slightly but I am getting tired of waiting to see when/if it will heal. And, also, I have no idea what it is/how I did it. The only thing I can think of is that it could have happened around the time that I was moving some heavy boxes but I didn't feel any pain at the time, just noticed pain one day. It feels like a sharp ache and doesn't hurt if I immobilise it - just on using said arm. And I would say it hurts more if I rotate my arm outwards (ie away from midline). Does anyone have any idea what I've done and how long recovery will take and if there is anything I can do - I don't want to take medicine though.

Many thanks
