Hi, im a high school wrestler and i was in practice yesterday, and while working moves, one of the 125 lb grabbed my ankle and twisted it and landed on it when it was sitting on its side. I felt and heard like 8 to 10 pops and could hardly walk on it. The pain is part of the bone that goes to the big toe. Extremely hurts to touch the top of the foot in the middle near the right side on left foot. I wrapped it and wrestled 3 matches today and swelling has gone up, along with 2 red marks, on top of my foot and on the big toe joint. I was wondering if this was just bruise or something cuz it hurts really bad to put full wait on it, and i cant stand flat footed on the foot without fallin down cuz of the pain. Any help?

  • See a doctor, probably a sports specialist or any general doctor. Just don't ignore the problem. You are younger and things may heal faster but also it may seem to heal and then you will develop something chronic or a problem you could take care of now.

  • I just had one of the many screws in my ankle replaced....My ortho remided me that my push through the pain crap is the reason I'm in his office. He told me that more injury happens from "walking it off" than the actual initial injury. Some thing about major swelling and tearing of cartilage, tendons and muscle. I know your a boy and boys are told/rewarded by the whole walk it off thing...BUT- the damage isn't worth the moment of feeling like you can push past the pain. You certainly wouldn't want to wreck your body for a life time.

Any help?Only a moron would look for help on the internet. GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM AT THE HOSPITAL NOW!! Not going to the hospital immediately was pretty dumb.. but than trying to wrestle after being injured is just plain retarded. Maybe you screwed yourself up so bad you will be screwed for life. GO TO THE HOSPITAL YOU *****d!!!
