I'm a very active 16 year old girl and have recently been experiencing symptoms that I think may represent fifths disease. I started out with swollen glands and a runny nose and figure i was probably getting a cold. But that eventually went away. About 2 days later I started experiencing severe muscle cramps and joint pain. This went on for about 2 weeks. It sucked because I had to stop all my sports and put my life on hold. I'd seen various doctors, and was first told it was an allergic reaction. I'd also experienced two attacks of chest pain, but all heart tests came out fine. I began to develop a lace like rash on arms and legs which went away in about 2 days after being prescribed to a pain killer and anti-inflammatory. Soon all my symptoms began to fade until recently... I had super super red cheeks for about two days, and then the next day the lace like rash returned, just on my arms, and palms of hands that i could tell. It was quite itchy especially on my wrists. I also had a raelly bad head ache in the back of my head for a few days. Yesterday the joint pain returned in my right leg. Today I woke up with a super sore throat and bad cough. I feel so sick with a cold. and the joint pain on top of it all really doesn't help. I'm a wreck...I just want to get back to my sports and normal lifestyle..could this be fifths disease?Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
