I broke the long bone in my middle toe 7 weeks ago. It was x-rayed, taped, and I was on crutches for 5 weeks before I could bear weight on it again. There is still some swelling in all the toes and foot, but not so bad. The thing that concerns me is how stiff it feels, how little it moves...all of the toes have lost mobility...maybe from the swelling? But when I do move them...the middle one just kinda hangs there and seems to only be moving because the others are moving. I don't actually feel it move on it's own. Maybe you should know that the break was a diagonally split in half, but did not involve the joints...which also don't seem to work anymore. I really haven't any pain, just the discomfort of the tightness that seems to have a hold on it. I thought about trying heat on it to relax things up a bit, but don't know if this is wise with swelling still going on. Is there any suggestions or advice you can give me? I know that 7 weeks is not that longer than a normal healing time...could this just be normal for how complete and wide the break area was and it's just not done healing...and I'm still experiencing that splinting thing that muscles do?Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
