Can anyone explain what goes on when those sounds are made? A link to a visual illustration would help too.

  • Can anyone explain what goes on when those sounds are made? A link to a visual illustration would help too.In general crepitus is a sign of cartilage wear in a joint. Instead of the two bones rubbing smoothing against each other (cushioned by cartilage), the cartilage is thinned or ragged and the bones don't slide easily.It doesn't have to be addressed unless it causes pain.
