I'm a 21 year old female who has been dealing with chronic hip/groin/leg pain for about 3-4 years now. It started off insidisouly as low back pain but slowly progressed into much more. Now I have these intense pain episodes which can last from hours to days at a time. It feels like a DEEP ACHING pain. It is constant, not throbbing. This pain is mostly in my hips and thighs, also my calves and sometimes my arms. That pain is intermittent, but I normally have a flare up every day. I also have small, painful sporadic muscle spasms in my legs, arms, hands, feet and groin muscles. These last all day, every day. They are not like "charley horses" per say, it feels more like a wave of pain through my muscle. They are not debilitating, but very painful and uncomfortable nonetheless. And on top of everything I am very fatigued, although I get plenty of sleep every night. I do not know what causes the pain so I do not know how to prevent it. It does get worse with activity, but sometimes it flares up for no reason. I wake up in pain alot. Most of the time, the pain is worse in the morning and at night. I have been to several doctors and had just about a million tests done and they cannot seem to find a diagnosis. I take Darvocet for pain when I have to, but it does not even kill the pain, just helps relax it. I use a heating pad on the area that hurts the most to help me rest. The only thing that actually takes the pain away is taking a long hot bath. The problem is, I cannot spend the rest of my life in the bathtub. I just don't know what to do. How do you other pain sufferers deal with your pain? Do you have any advice? Please help if you can.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
